The IWA Debates are a new series of events held in partnership with Aberystwyth University. Each event will focus on a current area of debate where there is no clear consensus. The debate will pit leading figures together to brief the audience on an important issue and explore the key points of contention. The event will be followed by a networking reception sponsored by Eversheds.
A year on from the Williams Commission report, the Welsh Government’s Minister for Public Services, Leighton Andrews, will give a speech on the future of public services in Wales.
This will be followed by an audience discussion led by a panel with Sir Paul Williams, Chair Commission on Public Service Governance and Delivery (The Williams Commission), Veronica Hope Hailey, Dean and Head of the School of Management at the University of Bath; Phil Bale, Leader of Cardiff Council and Laura McAllister, Professor of Governance at Liverpool University & Chair of Sports Wales.
Registration opens at 6.30pm, with the event starting promptly at 7pm. The event will be followed by a short drinks reception.
This is a free event, but booking is required. To book tickets please visit our Eventbrite page.
