Where next for the City Region concept?
Following last year’s task and finish group, chaired by Dr Elizabeth Haywood, two city region boards have been set up for Swansea Bay and the Cardiff City Region. But the recent Williams Commission report on public service delivery was silent on the role of city regions, and the challenge of responding to its recommendations risks slowing the momentum.
For our annual economy conference we’ve assembled a first rate range of experts and participants in the debate to ask can the City Regions move from aspiration to reality?
The elected Mayor of Bristol, George Ferguson, and South East Wales board Chair Roger Lewis, will reflect on their experiences and lead a discussion on how to make progress. This will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
